By the third film, we are getting a better understanding of the world John Wick lives in. We meet members of the High Table and see the cost of breaking the cardinal rule at the hotel. It's not just the fascinating action but the people Wick has relationships with.

One of the scenes I love is the partnership between Wick, Winston (Ian McShane), and Charon (Lance Reddick) team up at the hotel. I enjoy watching the hotel concierge being as nice with weapons as Wick. It's the team-up we needed to see.

The film also continues its trend of introducing other high-profile actors, Anjelica Huston and Halle Berry. Through Huston, we see more of Wick's past and understand how he entered the world of assassins.

We also explore the High Table, the organization at the top of the food chain. I'm familiar with Asia Kate Dillon through Showtime's Billions. Dillon plays a High Table Adjudicator, judging Winston's actions after Wick is labeled "excommunicado." She seems perfectly cast for a role requiring a dispassionate demeanor.

The film deals with survival. Wick is fighting for his life. Winston is fighting for his hotel. Together they make an unstoppable team. Wick's desire for peace seems to be a long shot by the movie's end.
