YUP YUP YUP. Ate this the fuck up like I knew I would!! Most of the movie makes ZERO sense. Dakota Johnson is literally giving nothing and everyone else is giving just as much if less. The editing is terrible. The VFX are dodgy as fuck. The plot and overall storyline is so fucking scattered and full of plot holes. Like do we know why these two storylines converged?? I still don’t know what the fuck the girls had to…
probably the most romantic movie I’ve ever seen. Binoche and Magimel’s chemistry is so palpable and magnetic but so understated. They are wonderful. And the cinematography is just perfect as well with brilliant camerawork around the kitchen creating this comforting environment that I never wanted to leave. I could’ve watched several more hours of this.
Not that it matters whatsoever but the Acafemy really fumbled by not nominating this for International Feature. And also, it’s far superior to Anatomy of a Fall. That’s all.
I’ve waited so long to see this and my theater finally had a one off showing on a Sunday afternoon a week before the Oscar ceremony so here we are!
