Reese’s review published on Letterboxd:
I love PTA so much. I love how the overlapping storylines are all intercut at a breakneck pace, so the over 3 hour film carries an unceasing dramatic momentum. It's really a feat of writing and editing on its own, and that's true even WITHOUT the movie's deeply-rooted sense of humanity. There's something pathetic and almost comical at times about the height of these characters' pain and desperation, and somehow you recognize the emotions and the behaviors within yourself. It's brutal, unwavering honesty.
The cast is wonderful, of course. Tom Cruise is unfortunately the standout, and genuinely phenomenal here. I knew the ending going in, and I'm still unsure about it. I wanna sit with it for awhile.
