2021 (re)Watches #45

Shout out to the Bat & Spider podcast and their short special ep on this today. Be sure to check them out, one of the strongest episode lineups? You said it, not me.

Was ready to rate this 4 stars off that chef’s kiss of a final third mammaaaa miaaa! The score is fairly decent too when it’s not jump scares. A little too many of those here.

Lots of scenes I had to mentally screenshot. Any shot of the final girl running as Jason is in the background just makes my cheeks clench at the terror of it being me chased. 

Yes, I’m not sure how Jason didn’t catch her off the roof or rub her face off in the van like an Italian demon zombie, but I managed to remain glued to the screen despite any minor flaw I thought up.

Imagine being chased and having to run up a spiral staircase? No idea how the girl didn’t see Jason under the hammock.

Shelly is a fun enough character. Memorable intro and his life’s exit is almost as memorable. 

If you made it this far, my first Friday the 13th was Jason X... so can’t wait to rewatch that. 

Don’t feel like talking about the 3D this rewatch.
