    did not foresee this being such a bore. there's absolutely no tension, all grinning and uninspired splatter punctuating every lull with the sloppy flump of a wet rag β€” despite the screeching string section really wanting me to be terrified or excited or, like... you know, not sighing and checking the time. the 'grafted' deadite was kinda cool, had me thinking about elden ring and the evil within... video games are cool...

    actually glad i watched this alone so i could hoot and holler uninhibited. fucking awesome. i know friends of mine have better words for this and i am content to be a cheerleader. i think this one's the best sequel to the original, easily.

    I kinda want to give myself a little slap on the wrist for this, but: if Twin Peaks were documentary-style found footage horror, it might be a bit like this. Its eye is maybe a bit less subtle than Lynch's, relying really heavily on slow zooms up to a grainy image where something tucked into a dark corner becomes clearer…
