Shervin Ghiami’s review published on Letterboxd:
This colossal piece of art is nothing to be taken lightly. Satantango, in its essence, is the fusion of Tarr's different styles: from the deeply philosophical and profound dialogues found in Werckmeister Harmonies and Almanac of Fall, to the stunning visual sequences perfected in The Turin Horse and Damnation.
It's impossible to describe how meditative and brilliant this journey is, so I won't try. My only criticism is really just a personal thing, since I'm not a big fan of any of Tarr's dialogue, as the specific tone and style don't interest me that much.
But even if you're not into that stuff either, you MUST watch for the calming traveling scenes and Spider Job II. Holy shit, best scene ever!
