This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

song i was thinking about while watching this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdgsbpNlJyM
I was expecting an entertaining rape and revenge sleaze fest, but instead I got a much deeper, darker, and and more terrifying look at a fascinating character.
It's a feminine twist on Taxi Driver. A women suffering from the oppression and filthiness of the male gaze, is pushed to a breaking point. She becomes a vigilante slowly falling deeper into madness as her targets become less justifiable. She even tries to…

    Freddy vs. Jason

𝙔𝙚𝙥. 𝙄 𝙜𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙨.
I wouldn't go as far as to put this film on the same level as Rob Zombie's Halloween II. Halloween II is a misunderstood modern masterpiece. Freddy vs. Jason is a film that caters to all my personal horror needs. One is a critically disliked masterpiece and one is a critically disliked movie that I fucking love.
Anyway, why did I give this seemingly stupid cash grab five star?
    Reason 1: It definitely…

    The Karate Kid

The Karate Kid's entertainment lies mostly in its character development and its nostalgia.
The 80s vibe is obviously reminiscent of other 80s crowd pleaser movies I've seen, except this is a family crowd pleaser, not an exploitation one. The dated feel (synthpop soundtrack, fashion) still works however and isn't distracting, even when there isn't any violence to make up for it.
It's a feel good time capsule that honestly feels like it's going by the movie making textbooks, not…

Look What's Happened to Rosemary's Baby

    Adrian like the producer
that was kinda fun I guess.
It's a really dry movie, dry acting, writing, characters etc. It was pretty psychedelic but I think that's because the VHS rip was awful quality and the picture was all wObBLy if you know what I mean.
Some of the driving scenes were kind of a vibe but other than that, a pretty boring experience.

I think his reviews are unfunny, unoriginal, and unhelpful, but today I put those biases aside for this short because I always like watching short films by Letterboxd users.
The best short films I watch are the most creative and experimental ones. Rhubarb is extremely clean and well-filmed but, outrageously uninteresting. I don't want to be too harsh since this is only four minutes long, but they're just isn't any creativity here. Four minutes…

  • The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

    The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

    My family's been in meat.
I woke up at 7, watched this.
Upon rewatch, I'm almost in tears at how brutally perfect this film is.
Everyone who was involved in the process of the creation of this was on the same page about what it would end up being.
Modern horror movies constantly try to copy what makes TCM do terrifying, but they end up making films with violence and disturbing and unusual situations, which just isn't scary. TCM delivers…
