I watched this after reading Elif Batuman’s essay on it, she describes it as “lord of the rings for comparativists” LOL. She talks about how this film plays out a tension she’s familiar with, the urgency of feeling like you need to digest and unpack your present historical moment as it happens in writing vs. the requisite slowness of novel and long format writing.
