Suspiria ★★★½

As I suspected after seeing Argento’s version, this is bloated and unnecessarily pretentious. Yet, also surprisingly thoughtful towards the end, and revels in the body horror more than the original did. It’s more artistic, but it lacks a certain charm that its more concise predecessor has. Still, on an initial watch, I like them almost equally. I’m less inclined to rewatch this any time soon though.
