Scavenger Hunt #51, Task #5: Watch a South Korean romantic comedy or melodrama.
I feel like this film is one of those where you need to rewatch it and analyze it over and over because I’m still trying to wrap my head around with this movie. But all I can say is, this is ambiguity done right. Definitely a slow burn film. It’s very intriguing from the start and thrilling by the end. It also did a great job in critiquing the social class. I still have a lot of questions after watching the film. But in terms of technicalities, the cinematography is wonderfully shot and for a 2.5 hour film with not too much story, it’s captivating and well executed. Also the level of tension by the end of the film is really good. The film is masterfully constructed. It’s perceptive, deeply nuanced, and complexly layered. It’s a film that needs concentration and analyzing because it’ll leave you with a lot of questions.
