Just captivating in image and suspense.
Really really slow burn, and, as confident as Ash is she understood this and knows what happened, I am not.
I think there’s a metaphor for class division in here as well, but trying to decipher this strange murder mystery noir was enough for me.
Cinematography is very Terrence Malick. I could do with a bit more plot and a bit less
aimless following around, but I dig it.
Definitely recommended for the SoKo cineasts out there.
EDIT: after thinking about the film and what I might not have been noticing or paying attention to, this film warrants a rewatch, and sooner than later.
There’s a lot more than the surface Under Silver Lake narrative here, which is equally as engaging as the subtext weaved throughout.
Bumping half a star to account for my ignorance on this one.
