Robert Gardiner’s review published on Letterboxd:
The precursor to the heroic bloodshed movies, made famous by John Woo and Ringo Lam . This action thriller is set in early 80s Hong Kong, about a gang of former soldiers living in mainland China. Who cross the border into Hong Kong, to rob and steal, to fund a better life in China. Things don’t go as planned, which sees the gang come into conflict with gangsters and the police. The action is gritty and very violent in places, which gives it a real world feel to it. Before building to an explosive shoot out in the claustrophobic setting of Kowloon Walled City , produced by Sammo Hung. Watched on Blu Ray from 88Films.
