I first suffered through this years ago, as a teen and big fan of the original film. It's still no better to watch as an adult. It has the most ridiculously-placed, dehydrated sex scene I've ever seen, though that was the only thing I remember from the first viewing.

It does have a couple of moments of cool imagery, like Simon wearing all the collected watches and lanyards, and characters seeing alternate mirrors of themselves.
