"Float like a Cadillac, sting like a Beemer."
The Cars franchise gets a pretty bad rep but I never got the backlash to this film, especially when there's other much more agregious Pixar films. This was their first real misstep and I guess that's where is comes from but I think Cars is pretty decent.
If you put aside the dubious world building, it's a decent film about a city car falling in love with the countryside. There are some gorgeous vistas in this married up to the driving scenes. It does feel like it's trying to say something about small town America but it gets a bit lost in the films plot.
In my eyes, an unfairly maligned Pixar film that doesn't quite quite hit the mark.
