“We are an unusual couple, you know.”
“Oh, I don't think that was ever in question.”
This show is remarkable. The way it has balanced this story of Wanda’s grief and mental health, dealing with all the Marvel aspects and skipping through different sitcom eras. It’s remarkable.
Olsen and Bettany are both fantastic but it really is Olsen’s show. Each week, playing a somewhat different version of the character through these eras while still being true to Wanda is amazing. And as the show progresses and we see more of her backstory, the way she portrays the grief and heartbreak is incredible. She manages to get you and keep you on her side even as it’s revealed she’s behind the creation of Westview.
Do I think this is best thing the MCU has done? It’s hard to say right now. It’s certainly up there and it definitely the best character piece in the MCU.
(I may remove WandaVision from this list at some point. Hard to compare a 9 episode mini-series to other movies but, for now, it’s in there.)
