    Great father and son bonding experience? Well, not if it's a Stephen King story. There are some great locations and production designs in this film. The plot starts well with a convincing inciting incident that promised a lot of potential that never gets fulfilled. The story kinda goes nowhere in the second half.

It might not have the genius of The Shining or the tension of Misery, but it's a powerful slow-burning story that hits all the right emotional beats. Kathy Bates and Jennifer Jason Leigh are great in their roles as they portray a difficult mother-daughter relationship. It's fascinating and absorbing to see the plot from different perspectives and timelines, even though they are exaggerated at times.
    The ending is a bit rushed, but it makes sense dramaturgically.
