Rock Hyrax’s review published on Letterboxd:
I was trying to think of things that might randomly be on Tubi, and OF COURSE Neil Jordan's dopey romance-comedy-fantasy about a haunted castle in Ireland would be. Bafflingly family-film-level obsessed with vapid magic spectacle and gags about fake specters, despite major plot points about ghost sex, for a delightfully who-was-this-possibly-written-for tonal instability. Another where I ended up being charmed by the characters and commitment to (still pretty dopey) spectacle.
Lately, whenever I see something like this, my first reaction is "but was it on that Psychotronic Comedy list?!" and this totally was.
Bonus points: Peter O'Toole, Daryl Hannah, and crappy money-grubbing landlord as phantom antagonist.
