    Rear Window

Introduced my 10 year old to Hitch’s masterpiece and he’s totally creeped out by it and won’t stop talking about it... So I guess the master of suspense worked his charm on him!

    Parenting done right.

  • The Wages of Fear

    The Wages of Fear

A long overdue revisit of this nail-biting classic; which once it gets going is about as tense as any film you will get in all of cinema. Clouzot was always a bit of a rival for Hitchcock (read up on Les Diaboliques for some context) and the way this film is crafted to ratchet up the tension, all without a score is masterful. Many feel the opening third of the film is a bit meandering, but I feel it sets…

    The Conversation

”He’d kill us if he got the chance”

Still every bit a sublime character study and one of best films of the 70’s, or any era really.

  • Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Yep, still rocks as hard as Fukman!

  • Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood

    3rd time’s still a charm.

I adore this damn film QT!

  • Knives Out

    Knives Out

Surely the best film of its kind, Rian Johnson is always meticulous, playful and brilliant, and his latest ode to the ‘whodunnit’ genre is no exception to any of the aforementioned characteristics.

Oh, and the entire cast is stunning and knows just the right tone to play at.

Oh, oh, oh and the title shares it’s name with one of my very fav Radiohead songs!

    Satisfyingly delectable!

  • Monsieur Verdoux

    Monsieur Verdoux

Another Chaplin masterpiece and strangely under-seen and sadly under-appreciated it would seem. I gotta get me a copy of the Criterion blu now, as I’ll be rewatching the hell out of this puppy!

  • Miracle Mile

    Miracle Mile

    What a trip!

One of those gems that just got lost in the discussion along the way, but will no doubt emerge from the embers into significant cult status. Feels like it belongs in the same universe as After Hours.

A perfectly ballsy ending that made me applaud!

  • The Thing

    The Thing

Still one of the GOAT that I just crave on a regular basis along with its cousin Alien.

  • Do the Right Thing

    Do the Right Thing

New Criterion blu looks so stunning it could make a grown man weep. Damn boy!

This film is just pure joy to me.

Second viewing was just as sweet as the first and will certainly not be the last.

  • Jackie Brown

    Jackie Brown

Like a fine bottle of red, this flick ages as gracefully as its two leads Grier and Forster. One to be savoured and adored!
