Very well-acted, but this film is slow and really lacking in an exciting plot. Credit the production team for apparently using real inmates and prison staff as actors and shooting in a real state pen. Also, Wright is perfect as the OG. It is his vehicle; almost every shot is of Wright. He is a man very scared of what the free world holds after being locked up for 24 years. Although authentic, the screenplay here holds this film back as pace is leaden and the are no surprises. For a much better prison take, check out Ben Stiller`s Escape From Dannemora.
