Being deliberately devoided of purpose is perfectly fine, doing it in such a mindbogglingly uninteresting manner, not so much. Sure it's well-shot and whatever, but it's far from being visually arresting or engrossing in any shape or form, so I'm not sure what's left to consider this an essential movie. Maybe I just don't like Godard. Fuck those jump-cuts.
