Raul Marques’s review published on Letterboxd:
This shit's majestical. Structured like the most gangster children's pop up book of all time, the movie starts incredibly strong and never ceases to get increasingly delightful from there, even in its relatively dark moments. One of Watiti's greatest accomplishments is to keep the flim wonderfully playful regarding its aesthetics, but still anchored in tasteful sobriety when dealing with its absurdly charismatic characters. The kid, Julian Dennison, gives what's easily the most likable performance of the year/decade/century, yet Jurassic Park veteran Sam Neill is not that far behind with his Harrison-Ford-like grumpily sympathetic Uncle Hec. If Ragnarok doesn't turn out FANTASTIC, Kevin Feige should be arrested for his crimes against humanity.
