The Idle Class

The Idle Class ★★★★

Chaplin is no stranger to putting fragments of personal turmoils into his pathos-drenched cinematic persona, yet making the plot about simultaneously distancing himself from his wife and being the one taking her away from him, is almost some 'ye' stuff. It's evident that this is still only a side note to another one of his wonderfully staged and performed breezy short comedies, but an interesting one nevertheless.
