Rebecca Hall's "on the brink of ripping your fucking head-off" performance is just awesome. Beth is very well built up, with pieces of her past being revealed when necessary and by that brilliant third act I felt I really knew the character. Claire was used well as the eyes & voice of the audience, screaming to Beth to just GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!
The supernatural threat is kinda generic, but Owen's actions on the part of Nothing are so brutal, mysterious, and evil that they elevate a pretty average plot.
Thought the final act was the strongest, following Beth through Owen's murders and discovering why this was all happening. Like the rest of the film, the director is so creative in these scenes and uses jump scares and build-up of tension really well.
So yeah, a nice last minute trip to the cinema!
