The French Dispatch

The French Dispatch ★★★½

An evolutive Wes Anderson film in that it's more insular, emotionally shallow and exceptionally visualized than his other films. Even if the characters are props (only Jeffery Wright's James Baldwin approximation evokes anything resembling the pathos of an actual human being) the film is a relentless visual marvel.

(Unrelatedly, I work in a newsroom, and editors are nothing whatsoever like Bill Murray here.)
