    So this one tries to literally erase SPECTRE which, you know, respect.

    Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood

    A return to the "every character is annoying" school of slasher screenwriting, but the sleeping bag kill is one of the best of the series. Maybe it all evens out? And Jason is knocked down by a severed head in a fake potted ficus which is, by any measure, insane. Overall, still one of the entries that is better with a crowd than at home.

    While I love the idea of "bottom of the lake" Jason I'm just not a big Hodder fan. (2, 4 and especially 6 are my boys.)

    This is great! Easily my fave of the DGG movies. Holds to the themes that didn't entirely fly in KILLS but does a lot better by them. Some of the turns feel like big swings but in the context of weird Halloween sequels, uh, this isn't far out at all. But it works better than most. Stuff hits different when the characters work, right?
