Starts out promisingly psycho sexual, but then gradually drifts into a pretty tepid procedural. Lacks a lot of the elements that I look for in a giallo (amateur sleuths, gloved killers, high body counts), but at least Fulci will wrap the dull in plenty of style.
The ending lifts it out of minor Fulci status.
This is without a doubt the hardest and most draining movie watching experience I have ever had. From the moment you hear the first shots and for the next ten minutes I sat with tears in my eyes, almost struggling to breath. It felt like the first time I truly dealt with the event that shook my home country to its very core. Its cinema using its power to the max.
