So sorry to all of the Tarkovsky stans out there! I wanted to love this, but that runtime proved to be absolutely disastrous for me. I had some difficulty connecting to the film in many parts and was left mostly (brace yourselves) bored! Some parts of it were interesting and juicy and frankly cool (the set-pieces!!) but yeah :(
The music, cinematography, and of course Oscar Isaac are all top-notch. I am happy I watched it. But like…. Idk! I couldn’t fully vibe with it. Tye Sheridan felt a bit miscast to me tbh
In the Disney Channel original movie, Geek Charming, Josh (the male lead), consistently insists that he is not a nerd, but in fact, a geek. I wonder what kind of geek he meant?
