Inland Empire 2006
A complete dissociation of filmic language to rather enthralling effect. Lynch really packs all the themes he built towards in Mulholland Drive and practically unravels them, sending Laura Dern on a startling, soul-shattering odyssey as a starlet consumed by The Method. But that's not really what the film is about... is it?

The Witches of Eastwick 1987
I can now officially say I have seen the film on which the seminal* softcore film, The Witches of Breastwick, is based, and, shockingly, it's just about as horny. The only separator being there's no full-fledged sex scenes between the explicit dialogue. Anyways! Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon and Cher are absolute goddesses here, each sporting exceptionally great hair, while Jack Nicholson is at his most diabolical. The plot itself is rather... strange. Certainly daring. Unfortunately, it starts to stumble before…

Looking: The Movie 2016
Gorgeous and poignant, but as to be expected, it's less a film than it is an overlong episode of TV. Still, Haigh is able to craft a narrative to hold the story together and really interrogated the role of marriage in queer culture. This story and its characters will ring true for some viewers and won't for others. It was nice to have this gem while we did.

All Quiet on the Western Front 2022
I need y'all to be serious, or watch some more anti-war films, like Elem Klimov's Come and See, because aside from some impressive technical skill, the film is exceedingly superficial and written on a middle school level.
