    I've never read the F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, so I was unfamiliar with how it went. I heard the film was good, albeit one of Fincher's lesser work. Nevertheless, I still went in wanting it to like it given the talented cast and crew behind it. I did end up liking it, but despite the major praiseworthy aspects about it, it does suffer from being overlong.

    I love music - particularly, I love 80s music. So the fact that this movie takes place around that era, and features music of the time, I went in wanting to love this. I left thinking that it was really enjoyable, but that the soundtrack drove this film more than the story did.
