  Unapologetically queer, black and hilarious. Way ahead of its time, this was incredible. So lesbian, so good. This is such a smart and important piece of filmmaking. While the watermelon women is not a factual real person, it tells an all too true story of black erasure in society and in Hollywoods past. Masterpiece.

  I quite enjoyed this. It was pretty beautifully written and told. Love that this was a lot darker than I’d imagined it would be.
