• Dune

haven’t written a formal review like this in ages and probably won’t again for a while but i felt this strong desire to express my feelings about one of my most anticipated films of the year <3

what a film! a true powerhouse! i can’t remember the last time i felt physically transported into a cinematic universe like i did with this one, it felt so good to be back! timothée truly acted his ass off and zendaya was absolutely…

  • I'm Thinking of Ending Things

    I'm Thinking of Ending Things

this movie really said making sense is optional, they just be talking!

  • The Devil All the Time

    The Devil All the Time

tom holland came and delivered! he was the best part about this godforsaken movie.

  • Tenet

i think christopher nolan’s life goal is to confuse the hell out of us

  • The Invisible Man

    The Invisible Man

“He said that wherever I went, he would find me, walk right up to me, and I wouldn't be able to see him.”

insane isn’t even the word. i can probably count on one hand the amount of movies that have made me feel like this and ‘the invisible man’ just got added to that group.

this was incredibly scary, anxiety inducing and unsettling in the best ways. it was brilliant. i wasn’t going into this with many expectations and i’m…

  • La La Land

    La La Land

ryan gosling’s absence is the reason for my depression

  • Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

“I'm the one they should be scared of! Not you, not Mr J! Because I'm Harley Freaking Quinn!”

harley quinn is maniacal but you gotta love her. i genuinely haven’t had this much fun watching a film in awhile. this was everything i hoped it would be.

    points to make:
☆ those fight sequences were so unbelievably badass. they did not miss a beat.
☆ the comedic timing was perfect.
☆ harley quinn voted for bernie!
    ☆ seeing badass women…

  • Parasite

“Once you overcome the 1-inch-tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films.”

i can’t believe we’re lucky enough to be alive at the same time as bong joon ho and get to witness the absolute excellence that is this film.

  • Knives Out

    Knives Out

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before!

what did rian johnson do: that.

  • The Last Black Man in San Francisco

The Last Black Man in San Francisco

“You don't get to hate it unless you love it.”

now that award season is upon us, it saddens me that this isn’t getting the proper recognition it so rightfully deserves. black films are typically centered around the “struggle,” and although there were remnants of that here, it felt like a breath of fresh air.

there’s beauty, there’s loss and there’s hope. this was truly excellent in every sense of the word. from the screenplay, the cinematography and the acting, this is art.

  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

it was a movie. nothing revolutionary which is what the last installment of this iconic franchise should’ve been. my favorite characters deserved more than what they got.

but overall, i will miss these films and know they’ll live on forever 💫♥️

  • Little Women

    Little Women

“Women, they have minds, and they have souls, as well as just hearts. And they’ve got ambition, and they’ve got talent, as well as just beauty. I’m so sick of people saying that love is just all a woman is fit for. I’m so sick of it!”

little women is so full of life and love and greta has made yet another incredible film that embraces you in the warmest and most loving hug.

this was certainly everything i could’ve…
