“Sometimes the old ways are the best.”
I still remember watching Skyfall in theatres for the first time when I was 12. I came out of the theatres having watched one of the best films. Today I rewatched the film in entirety for the first time since, and I’m happy to say that my feelings remain the same. In fact, I my appreciation for this film grew even more this time around. Skyfall is the best James Bond movie and one of the best movies ever made.
Everyone involved is operating at the height of their talents giving us one of the most mature, well acted and thematically rich Bond film. It is undoubtedly one of the best blockbusters of the last decade, in fact might even be the best.
Craig gives his best performance as the character so far and I wonder if it will be beaten by the other two. Javier Bardem gives the Bond franchise another iconic villain in Raoul Silva, who just might be my fav one.
And I don’t even need to mention how much Deakins and Newman rock. Just perfection.
Also, what a perfect sendoff to Judi Dench. She’s played the role since ‘95 and having seen other Bond films, her last appearance had more impact on me. Best M.

Moved Earth and Heaven; That which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield”
