Once ★★★★½

The real life chemistry of Hansard and Irglova shines through the screen in a musical not so much driven by it's songs, as they're more of the character-building kind. Ideally the songs could have leaned more towards Damien Rice, than David Gray, but that's nitpicking.
Natural, authentic and life-affirmingly sad, if that's even a thing.
