Thomas Ringdal’s review published on Letterboxd:
I had hopes after the first 15-20 mins that this sequel was going to do almost everything right. It had Dennis Hopper as a lunatic cop, a more mature than usual scream queen, Bill Moseley as one of the sickos (in his first major role), the same director as the first one and the writer of Paris, Texas in charge of the script.
Somehow it all went a bit awry after a promising start though. Leatherface is infected (not literally, duh) with a comedy bug that does him no favours at all, the scream queen is losing IQ points by the minute, Hopper is never around, and the body count is disappointing. The ending is some kind of redemption, but not enough. Bill Moseley was great, but that kinda goes without saying.
