  Real review after second watch: some really effective and reflective sequences that feel like peak haynes, but ultimately on the Haynes scale, it truly feels pretty aesthetic-less and visually uninspired compared to previous work. The unique choice of setting contributes nothing here. Julianne and Natalie feel like they’re on separate pages here to me. Also suffers from some irredeemable miscasts.😅😬Vibeless I guess?

  Could be my new favorite Christmas movie. Can’t believe A24 shrunk this release to La/Ny and moved it to digital. Just sad. This is ripped right from 2001 and essence of the early 2000s american low budge indies. Nice Elara rehash cast. Beautifully small in scope. Grimey and ghoulish. Spiritual sequel to five easy pieces? It’s rough and raw in execution but that kind of unique effort in so that just feels charming to me.
