I know folk who enjoyed Hereditary but felt it jumped the shark at the end.
They won't like this.
Wrongly marketed as a horror film here in UK, it's more of a conscious effort just to fuck with people's heads.
I really liked it.
Visuals are incredible. Great direction and cinematography. The disconcerting camera work does the job. Ari Aster had a vision in his head presumably and it comes across brilliantly on screen.
Sure, it's intentionally and unintentionally laughable at times.
Sure, it could do with an edit.
Main things are that Florence Pugh is as great as usual, the supporting Americans do their job, the locals are suitably "local" and it looks amazing.
