one of the most unique cinematic experiences i’ve ever had. i agree with the consensus that it’s very impressionistic; some people may see this movie as nothing more than a vaguely assembled series of hollow aesthetics and some may find their life entirely changed by it, but either way it deserves a watch just to see what you can take away from it. if it’s as transformative for you as it was for me it will be worth it, and even if you don’t take anything away from it the cinematography is stunning enough to keep you sated for the full runtime
honestly hard to watch at a lot of different moments in a lot of different ways, but well done and surprisingly sentimental. gives insight into a sector of tiktok (or i guess at the time it was musical.ly) a lot of us aren't acquainted with on a 'fan' level – the mop-haired spray-tanned teen lipsync guys who exist solely to accumulate hoardes of tweengirl fans and regurgitate as many platitudes as possible within their otherwise terse manager-sponsored videos.
