“NED! 🥊 “
A classic! Of course I watch it every year on this day, what else can I say?! It definitely drags in its romantic subplots but hey! it’s way too good of a time to really complain about. Bill Murray is having a blast doing what he does best and the jokes land pretty well. His performances, especially in comedies, always feel so unique to him and rarely feel dull or bland. It understands how to take this concept and make it feel fresh, smart and fun. It raises the question of “What would you do if you could do anything?” and how, even after wishing you could do anything, it may leave you in a miserably repetitive and unhealthy state of mind. You have to figure out what is truly important to you and what you can do to shape yourself better. It’s a movie that, ironically, never gets old and is one that I can imagine watching yearly for the rest of my life.
