Just like with slasher films, there is only so much you can do with inspirational biopics about a crew of misfits that successfull makes a movie together. But it doesn't matter if it plays its cards well and DOLEMITE IS MY NAME truly does.
It's funny, it's touching, I hope Eddie Murphy wins an Oscar and can finally start the Bill Murray part of his career. But the true scene stealer is Wesley Snipes, who gives one hell of a "Damn, I knew he had range, but I didn't know he could go there!" performance.
It really doesn't do anything new, but I liked every minute of it.
