couldn’t help pointing to the screen every time ben affleck was in front of his desk and yelling variations of “omg it’s steve harrington’s shoes.” i just thought everyone should know, and by “everyone” i mean my mother.

Evil Dead Rise 2023
anyone who glanced over at me during the movie definitely thought i was a psychopath bc of the massive smile plastered on my face and how i was visibly bubbling with glee. to me, it’s a perfect balance of old and new without pandering to fans, it brought back the batshit goofy deadites of the past while also keeping a darker tone like 2013, and SO MUCH blood and gore and sound design that just scratched by brain in the right way. not to mention alyssa sutherland (please call me)! gagged as the kids say

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 2003
not to be an absolute loser but i cried at least 4 times purely for nostalgic reasons. lotr was just a really big part of my friend group and we saw each film like 3 times in theater (which is a lot when you’re 10-12 and have no money and live in samoa). it’s a perfect film that i associate with perfect memories and i’m just happy i got to see it on a big screen 20 years later
