Hereditary ★★★★★

I am speechless right now. This film was amazing, it is a masterpiece of horror. After I watched (and adored) Midsommar, I instantly wanted to watch this, and now that I did I'm mesmerized. This film was incredible, everything was amazing in this film. Ari Aster makes an incredible job as the writer and the director of this film. The story he presents is mindblowing and as a director the attention to detail is amazing. Exactly as in Midsommar, everything has a purpose in the film. Everything you see on the screen means something and tells a story, as well as supporting the main story by foreshadowing discreetly or just by having a meaning. The acting in the film is also something amazing. Everyone does an incredible job here. My favorite performances were the ones of Alex Wolff and Toni Collette who make an amazing job both of them. You can connect a lot with their characters. It is just amazing.

The Academy really needs to stop being scared of horror because let's face it, both Alex Wolff and Toni Collette deserved at least an Oscar nomination for this film, as well as Ari Aster. He really deserves more recognition for his work.

This was great, spooky, but great indeed.
