Samuelleary’s review published on Letterboxd:
I REALLY don’t want to, but I’m going to have to bump this down half a star. I think too much of it is just a little cringeworthy and devoid of much meaning. Homecoming had a lot of scenes that just WERE Spider-Man. This one doesn't really. It has amazing scenes (the illusion and the first post credits scene) but they don’t really enhance the character much, they’re just really cool. It’s weird because I have a pretty personal connection to the film, but more the experiences I had with it. I actually didn’t like this at all when I first watched it, but I’ve learned to just have fun with it. But I think the main reason this is upsetting is because most of my worries about No Way Home have disappeared in the past month, but rewatching this has reminded me of all the issues I have with it. Fingers crossed Jon Watts can pull it off though!
