Sam Van Hallgren’s review published on Letterboxd:
Even if the rest of the film plays like an only occasionally inspired mashup of a dozen other films, Marvel herself is a brilliant and thrilling creation. The emotional stakes that fuel the character - and Larsen’s terrific performance - are more than enough to power the movie through its many uneven moments as the tone veers wildly from hokey sincerity to sitcom silliness. Ace supporting cast doesn’t hurt either.
Brilliant choice of song to play over credits, especially considering the song that plays just prior to Marvel coming fully into her powers. Grade-A trolling that’s also consistent with the movie’s empowerment theme.
