Sam Van Hallgren’s review published on Letterboxd:
I haven’t seen any of Murphy’s forays into the kind of family friendly stuff that has been giving him massive paydays for the last quarter century of so, but this often felt like it had the harmlessness of a Daddy Day Care (to choose a title at random) except with some gratuitous nudity and a truckload of f-bombs. So perfectly fine and entertaining, but unfortunately thin and missing the sense of authenticity and grit that Brewer’s early films had.
Murphy himself not only good, but so good he makes it look easy. Most thrilled to see Snipes. Hilarious here - and a reminder of just how good he was.
