Heartwarming, touching, funny, emotional; it follows a feel-good formula that is all too familiar, and the events that unfold (especially towards the end) unfortunately feel unbelievable. That's not necessarily to its discredit though. I think half the point is something like this should feel achievable. The chemistry between LaBeouf and Gottsagen is great to see. This is a fun film with a strong purpose.

Why is Leon so serious in this? His character just doesn't feel natural in comparison to the games, and the rest are mostly annoying. The cgi itself looks dated 12 years on but I guess that can't be helped. The dodgy lip sync can though... It all sounds pretty bad but there are some entertaining moments. Overall it wasn't a good start for the CG Resi films.

This is weird and wonderful. Garland’s second outing brings beautiful visuals and a stunning soundtrack but, due to some pacing issues, doesn’t quite match the brilliance of his debut, Ex-Machina.

Day 31 - your favourite horror

Horror doesn't get any better than this. Some of the best prosthetics and most memorable lines; a constant air of mystery and tension. Classic.
