Samuel Spencer’s review published on Letterboxd:
Ari Aster could be the new master of mixing beautifully shot cinema with horrifying imagery. Whereas Hereditary is shocking in its surprise reveals, Midsommar never seems to hide its intentions. Still, the misery and terror feel almost masked by the bright colour palette throughout most of the film, which again contrasts to how dark Aster's first feature is. This in itself allows the film to truly push boundaries whilst providing an original film that will stick in your mind for a long time.
