‘i’m weird, i’m a weirdo, i don’t fit in’ cinematic universe

In case you haven’t noticed, I'm weird. I’m a weirdo. I don't fit in. And I don't want to fit in. Have you ever seen me without this stupid hat on? That's weird.

i’m not suggesting that these movies are inherently bad for following this trope - some of these are definitely among my favourites! in short, these films either feature a protagonist whose ‘quirkiness’, uniqueness or struggle to relate to other characters* is integral to the overall narrative, or have an overall ‘quirky’ vibe that is used to market the film as being particularly ‘out there’ or ‘not intended for general audiences’.

*most of these characters are also self aware and will highlight how they’re so different to other people and no one else understands!

feel free to make suggestions!
