The only me is me. Are you sure the only you is you?
Being excited to see a new wide-release in theaters is such a rare feeling for me (and definitely everyone else in my audience). The overt comedy of Jordan Peele's second film (third if we're counting Keanu?) caught me a bit off guard and the infodump in the third act was... I mean, it was exposition-y. But now I'm all psyched for a second viewing because the twist was well established in the first two thirds of the movie. Like: that’s why Adelaide comforted CHUD Zora as she died! That’s why she kept running off by herself!
The character of Adelaide(s) embodies GUILT. Guilt: believing you are living a life that doesn’t belong to you, a life you don’t deserve while the people you love suffer in silence. Guilt for living a life of comfort, knowing there are kids out there just like yours who are hurting.
Can’t wait to see it again. Definitely meant for multiple viewings.
EDIT: Unedited Footage of a Bear, anyone??
