confirmed ghost story and horror film addict 👻
rewatching this in 2023 when I last saw it in theaters in 2012 made me so NOSTALGIC I was immediately crying. I must admit I’ve never seen the other movies & I’m currently reading the series for the first time, but no dystopian series will ever touch the cultural impact of THG.
okay I haven’t seen this in YEARS, but this little girl came into my work tonight and wouldn’t stop talking about this movie. THERE ARE CHILDREN OUT THERE WHO STILL WATCH THIS??? kudos to her parents. THIS DESERVES AN AUTOMATIC FIVE STARS EVEN THO I FORGET EVERYTHING, BUT THAT GIRL MADE ME REMEMBER THIS CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE AGAIN.
Storytelling lacked in the end, but I AM STILL ENTHRALLED by the music and visuals. Anya Taylor Joy, 60s London, mod-disco era fashion, a killer soundtrack, flashing neon lights and ghostly figures!!!!! What more could a girl want????!!! 😍✨
Also Thomasin is so relatable because I am OBSESSED with Anya too and I wish she would haunt me in my dreams.
