Momoko Ando’s adaptation of her own novel by the same title. A three hour long epic of sorts, Sakura Ando is a carer-turned-drifter in a country full of elderly who needs somebody to care for them and about them. While at times, the film drags along from one end of its runtime to the other, it still has something heartfelt to say: Look after others. Listen to them. Even when stranded, people always find others to care for.
